Flip it over and you’ll find it: two sensors covered in biocompatible gold are designed to analyze the skin of all facial areas and measure hydration levels, at a rate of 1000 units per second.

The FOREO For You app is specifically designed to guide you in analyzing the condition of your skin and display the results directly on your mobile screen. Based on this instant analysis, the app will set up a personalized cleaning routine on your LUNA fofo.

Constantly evolving skin care

In reality, the challenge was to answer the question “How will optimal cleansing for each skin type be achieved in the future?” The truth is that we were not considering it in this immediate present, but it was the trigger to investigate.

LUNA fofo manages to optimize cleaning with precision, thanks to a sophisticated algorithm that is also updated with the reception of data. In other words, the more people use LUNA fofo, the more it will refine their cleaning routines, which will mean more benefits for all users. It’s pretty simple, a learning machine or constantly evolving skin care.

Looking ahead, this is just the tip of the iceberg. FOREO founder Filip Sedic underlines the potential of this revolutionary device:

Products of the future will detect air quality and skin condition in real time. And, based on this data, the device will be able to generate the best type of treatment for that precise moment. In search of our critical mass of beauty

To make LUNA fofo not only capable of identifying skin types, but also able to create cleansing routines, the FOREO Institute tested the device on 500 individuals. They answered a detailed survey that asked them everything from the amount of water they drank per day to the age of each participant, while the latest generation sensors analyzed and saved the data of each anonymous volunteer. This process gave us a solid foundation in flabby analysis, but we needed more data (and we wanted it faster!).  

Thus, FOREO partnered with the leading subscription service, FabFitFun . With more than one million personal care subscribers in the US, the partnership was a huge success. And not only did we receive your comments about LUNA fofo, but it also helped us add hundreds of thousands of data about skin and treatments in the app .

Let’s look at it another way: if in the US the average number of working days per year is, say, 260 and a beautician serves an average of 5 people a day, then the total number of clients per year amounts to 1,300. Well, FOREO and FabFitFun distributed about 900,000 LUNA flafo, from which we obtained information about their skin. In other words, LUNA fofo accumulated the equivalent of 700 years of esthetician experience in a matter of weeks.
