Backpacking Beauty Guide: The Bare Essentials

The ultimate packing list for every backpacking beauty. Now that summer is here, it’s time to pack your bags and head out into the great beyond for a bit of adventure. Deciding what to bring - and what not to bring - is the vital first step of any backpacking trip, so we’ve put together a list of backpacking essentials to help you do and see more, with less stuff.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

When I’m travelling, I usually go au naturel, but every once in a while a girl likes to get gussied up, so I bring along a few makeup essentials for any such occasion. With such limited packing space, multi-taskers are a must-have; this one does triple duty: moisturizer, sunscreen and color correction.

Quick-Dry Travel Towel

A wet towel is heavy, and can quickly lead to a stinky situation. A microfiber towel is highly absorbent and will dry quickly so you can pack it without fear of mildew. Plus, it will reduce frizz so you can towel-dry your hair and still look good when you don’t have easy access to a blow dryer.

Glossier Generation G Lipstick

A little lip color goes a long way - whether you’re partying under the Eiffel Tower or having a picnic under the Tuscan sun. And you can use it as a blush in a pinch. Like I said - multitaskers.

Shampoo Bar

There’s no worse feeling for a traveler than opening up your carefully-curated toiletries bag only to find everything drenched in shampoo. Swap out the liquid stuff for a 2-in-1 solid - zero spillage and one bar can last the whole trip.

Travel-Size Skincare

Travelling shouldn’t equate to inadequate skincare. Stick to your daily cleansing routine without sacrificing precious backpack real estate with the LUNA play plus. All the benefits of T-Sonic cleansing, no bulky charger.

Silk Sleep Sack

Regardless of how many stars that hostel of yours received, clean linens aren’t always a sure thing. So why not bring your own? A silk sleep sack is lightweight and offers the peace of mind you’ll need to catch up on your beauty sleep.   Happy trails!
