Skinimalism: Tips to Simplify Your Skincare Routine

With so many fantastic skincare products and new beauty brands emerging, our skincare routines can easily become over complicated. That's why you need to think about - skinimalism. If you're anything like I used to be, the excitement of trying a new product is too much to resist and you end up with a large collection of products that look beautiful sitting on your bathroom shelf. I’ve now streamlined my skincare routine with a few simple changes. While some love the daily ritual of an extensive pamper session, for others, healthy skin doesn't have to mean a time-consuming 10 step routine. Here are some tips for those looking to minimize skincare routine but maximize results.

Identify your skin goals

When looking for a new product start by assessing what it is you wish to achieve with your skincare routine. What are the key concerns you wish to address that will help you to feel confident in your own skin? Are you looking for brightness, smoother texture, oil control? Once you have identified what you want then you can look at the ingredients that can help you get there and purchase accordingly. This can help you to narrow down which items deserve a place in your routine and which items are unnecessary.

For skinimalism choose quality over quantity

We can often find ourselves purchasing new products before our old products run out because we are not getting the results we want. So now that you've identified the ingredients you want, consider quality over quantity. Instead of selecting 3 different products with that key ingredient, perhaps consider just one product with a high concentration of that ingredient. Then persevere with products and use them until finished. Remember! Most skincare items are not a quick fix (we wish!) and will take time to show effect. Give your skincare product a fair chance before adding them to a collection of rejected products.

Choose beauty tools that are built to last

It is made from durable medical-grade silicone and T-sonic technology. Also, this sophisticated device removes up to 99.5% of dirt oil and bacteria from deep within the pores.

Prioritize 3 or 4 important products

If you really want to simplify your routine, start with the fundamental products such as cleansers, moisturizers, and SPF.[/caption] Cleansers ensure you have a fresh base for the application of your other skincare products. They remove dirt and oils that can naturally accumulate on the skin.  Moisturizer helps to protect and hydrate your skin as you face the environment during the day. Also, don't forget about SPF. No matter what time of the year it is, we are always exposed to harmful UV rays so make sure to protect your skin every day with SPF. These 3 products make a fantastic starting point for any skincare routine. You can add other treatments from there that should they meet your skin's needs and goals. By identifying your skincare goals, investing in good quality products and beauty tools built to last as well as prioritizing the key products in your routine, you are well on your way towards crafting your very own effective yet minimalistic skincare regimen.

You're not alone in feeling that way! While some people enjoy and benefit from elaborate skincare routines, the idea of a 12-step routine can be overwhelming for many.
