A full face of makeup and perfectly-coiffed hair don’t stand a chance against the heat and humidity of a tropical destination, so there’s no point schlepping around my entire top shelf. But there are a few essentials I can’t live without. I always bring Avène Thermal Spring Water and rosehip seed oil on the plane - gotta keep things hydrated when flying! And in case of any travel-induced breakouts, a little tea tree oil makes an excellent spot treatment. Glossier Stretch Concealer and Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviving Balm are all I really need for a no-makeup makeup look, while Dry Shampoo Foam and Wave Spray from The Ouai are my go-to’s for vacation hair - it's like hitting 'refresh' on those beachy waves before heading out for the night. And of course, my ISSA 2 sonic toothbrush.

My usual packing list for Thailand would be the 3 B’s of bare minimum packing - Baht, Bikini and a Book - but age and wisdom has lead me to expand this list slightly. My combination skin means an endless battle against oil - hence the Innisfree No Sebum Blur Primer - but also cleansing to keep my pores under control. I use my Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash and my trusty LUNA 2, with a non-greasy spot of SPF from drugstore fave, Coppertone. I make sure my lips get their sun-protection as well with an SPF 15 gloss from K-Beauty powerhouse Too Cool For School but otherwise will just stick to basic eyeshadow come evening with No7 Stay Perfect. I’ve also recently discovered that Bio-Oil is the perfect weapon against persistent ingrown hairs, so it’s newly on my ‘must-bring’ beach vacation packing list!

When I head on vacation to a tropical destination, I try to keep my makeup and skincare routine to a minimum and let the sun do the rest of the magic. After I (hopefully) achieve a nice natural tan on my skin, I like to go for a dewy hydrated look with the help of cleanser, toner, sunscreen, highlighter, blush and a hint of lipstick. My current go-to products include Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, Pixi Glow Tonic Toner, innisfree Intense UV Protection Cream, followed by cult-favorite BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, and La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush. I always try to use my light pink lipsticks when I am tan as much as possible so I am packing my new Yves Saint Laurent Oil-In-Stick Lipstick which has an amazing consistency that keeps my lips moisturized in any climate. After a long day basking in the sun, I love to wind down with a quick face mask before hitting the sheets. Instead of my usual 20-minute face mask, I’ve switched to using UFO and UFO Activated Masks, which basically revives my skin and gives it a complete facial in only 90 seconds!
